We are proud to be a community that is a part of the United Church of Christ, a denomination that is at once deeply connected to the mission of Christ in the world and the vision of being an inclusive community welcoming all who come. The United Church of Christ was established in 1957 by a merger of churches in the Congregational, Evangelical, and Reformed traditions. Today there are nearly a million UCC members in all fifty of the United States.

As a part of the United Church of Christ we hold that Christ is the head of the church, all congregations have unity in Christ and the autonomy to be true to their own context, culture and community. First Congregational United Church of Christ is a part of Algona, and we work together with other churches in Iowa, throughout the United States, and all over the world.

All are welcome, and God is still speaking. Come to the church where no one is a stranger and all are welcome.
